Great food and service. Eggs Benedict is the best I've ever seen. Soups are very good. Caramel Rolls are great.

Always fast service and home cooked food. Seating is limited so arrive at non busy times or know you will have a wait.

If you're looking for a local true diner breakfast spot that offers hot, delicious meals with excellent service, this place is a must-visit. I had the ranchers scramble, and my husband had the sausage scramble. We also shared a side of biscuits and gravy, which were some of the best I've ever tasted. The portions were generous.

Hot, fresh, and fast breakfast. The service was awesome, the entire staff gets involved. Multiple wait staff checking on you, the coo delivering plates. Their sweets were a perfect after breakfast dessert.

The food is delicious! Our service has always been fast, friendly and inviting. We enjoy everything about Ohms. Occasionally, we get dinners to go because they are always so good. All that and great prices too. So happy to have Ohms in Mandan.

This is a must go when you are in Mandan. Pretty sure it's the longest operating restaurant in the metro area. It has been recently renovated and now is serving cocktails and beer. The food and wait staff are outstanding. You will never leave this place hungry. Great breakfasts and daily specials.

Totally out of our way but such comfort food. They have a fairly big menu with homemade sausage patties, so flavorful! Full of locals, great diner ambiance.

As far as old authentic greasy spoon diners go, this is the real deal. Founded in the 50s and resilient through the years according to the various pictures and articles hanging in the diner. As a diner, you'd expect good homemade food and the specials of the week included creamed chicken, cabbage rolls, and a tater tot hotdish. But they have plenty of other options as well. I ordered the standard Ohms Breakfast with 2 scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, toast and a side of hand pattied sausage - see picture. The food was delicious, the waitstaff was attentive and quick to refresh our coffee and the prices were incredibly reasonable. Tough to ask for much more. 5 stars!

Ohm's Cafe

Ohm's Cafe sits quietly on 808 W Main St in Mandan, but once inside, there’s nothing quiet about the energy. With its retro booths, warm chatter, and the smell of sizzling bacon, it’s the kind of spot that feels familiar, even if it’s your first time. Locals know it as their go-to for hearty breakfasts, daily lunch specials, and coffee that keeps on coming. If you’re craving an authentic small-town American diner experience, Ohm's doesn’t just serve it — they live it.

A classic diner experience in Mandan that feels like home

There’s something deeply comforting about walking into Ohm’s. The friendly staff know many guests by name, the walls are lined with vintage charm, and the clinking of plates makes it feel like Sunday morning. People don’t just come for the food; they come for the feeling.

The main attraction? Without a doubt, it’s the breakfast. Whether it’s fluffy pancakes, golden hashbrowns, or their house-made biscuits smothered in sausage gravy, every bite tastes like it was made with care. From truckers starting their day early to families gathering on weekends, Ohm’s draws in a loyal crowd who appreciates food that’s both comforting and consistent.

What’s on the menu at Ohm’s Cafe: big flavor, no fluff

Ohm’s menu doesn’t try to impress with complicated names — and that’s the beauty of it. You’ll find American diner staples done right: eggs any style, patty melts, BLTs, and meatloaf with mashed potatoes that tastes just like grandma made it. Their daily specials change often but stay grounded in homestyle roots.

The portions are generous without being overwhelming, and everything is cooked to order. They don’t hide behind fancy sauces — the ingredients shine through. For example, their bacon is thick-cut and crisp, the toast is always buttered just right, and the gravy has the kind of peppery kick that wakes you up better than the coffee (though the coffee’s pretty great too).

The charm is in the details — and the people

You could talk about Ohm’s food all day, but what really makes it special is the people who run it and the ones who fill the seats. There’s pride in every plate that comes out of the kitchen, and it shows in how customers respond.

Local families drop by after church. Regulars bring friends from out of town. Even newcomers who wander in out of curiosity often leave with a new favorite spot. It’s not uncommon to overhear a joke traded between tables or a birthday celebration getting a free slice of pie. There’s a community here, one built over coffee refills and shared stories.

Their service team has an instinct for making you feel welcome, even during the morning rush. If you need something, chances are they’ve already noticed. It’s attentive without being overbearing — just the right balance of professional and personal.

Why locals love it — and why you should stop by

Mandan isn’t overflowing with diners, but even if it were, Ohm’s would still stand out. Reviews across platforms echo the same sentiment: “Best breakfast in town,” “Affordable and delicious,” “Friendly staff that treat you like family.” These aren’t just empty compliments — they’re reflections of real, repeat experiences.

Parking is easy, the location on Main Street is central, and they open early enough for the earliest birds. Whether you’re looking for a quick bite before work or a slow brunch on a Saturday, Ohm’s fits the need without the fuss.

So, if you find yourself in Mandan — or even just passing through — make a little detour to Ohm’s Cafe. You’ll walk out full, smiling, and probably already planning your next visit.
